On attempting to put the glass you sent us in the lamp which Thomas supposed was too large we broke the lamp itself, which I wish you would get Mr <Cox> to mend & return to me as soon as practicable. Whether he was paid for the glass or not I know not nor is it material, he shew me the glass & said the lamp <Box> & all was so much which I paid him, but if he had sent the glass with it originally he would have shewn more attention to it & the lamp probably not have been broke.
