To all to whom these presents shall come, I Reuben Swift Sheriff of the county of Columbia send Greeting: Whereas by virtue of one writ of Fieri Facias, issued out of the Supreme Court of Judicature of the People of the State of New York, tested the sixteenth day of January in the year one Thousand eight hundred and Thirteen, at the suit of Cornelius J. Schermerhorn, John J. Schermerhorn & John J. Van Alstyne & to me directed, commanding one of the goods and chattles, lands & teneants of Asel King to buy four hundred and seventy four Dollars & eighty six cents damages & costs; and also by virtue of <illegible> writ of Fieri Facias, issued out of the same Court and tested on the sa[me] day and year aforesaid, at the suit of the same plaintiffs; to me directed as aforesaid, commanding me of the goods & chattles; lan[d] and Tenements of the said Asel King to levy Eleven hundred & forty ^twenty six^ Dollars ^of debt, and fourteen Dollars^ and forty four cents damages and costs; and also by virtue of one other writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the same Court and tested on the fourteenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and Fourteen at the suit of The President Directors & Company of the Bank of Hudson, to me directed as aforesaid, commanding me of the goods & chattles lands and Tenements of the said Asel King, to Levy four hundred and sixty Dollars and forty five cents Damages and costs; and also by virtue of one other writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the same Cou[rt] and tested on the day and year last aforesaid, at the suit of the last mentioned Plaintiffs, to me directed as aforesaid, commanding me of the good and chattles, lands and tenements of the said Asel King to levy Two hundred and fifty five Dollars and twenty one cents Damages and costs; and also by virtue of one other writ of Fieri Facias issues out of the same Court, and tested on the thirteenth day of august in the year la[st] aforesaid, at the suit of Martin Van Buren, to me directed as aforesaid, commanding me of the goods and chattles lands and Tenements of the said Asel King, to levy Two thousand Seven hundred Dollars of debt and fourteen Dollars and forty three cents damages and costs, I have seized and taken of the lands and tenements of the said Asel King All those several p[ieces] or parcels of land following towit: One Piece bounded on the south by lands of Reuben King, east by lands of Henry King, north by lands of Jacob Rice & P[eleg] Spencer, west by lands of Peleg Spencer & Moses King, containing about One hundred acres. Also one piece bounded on the North by lands of Samuel Hand & Buck King, east by lands of Samuel Hand, South by lands of Jac[ob] Rice and west by the Turnpike road, containing about Seventeen acres. Also a[n] equal undivided half part of the other pieces or parcels of land, the one bo[un]ded on the west by lands of William Gay, north by lands of Elisha Hatch, e[ast] by lands owned by the Shakers, and south, by lands of William Lee on both sides of the Road leading from the Union Turnpike to the Shaker Village, late the property of William Norton deceased, containing about twenty two acres, the other is wood land, bounded South by lands of Joseph Davis, east by lands of Ezekiel Merrill, South by lands of Gad Hitchcock and west by lands of some person unknown containing about Sixteen acres be the same, more or less. And whereas, the said premises with their appurtenances, since the seizure by me made by virtue of the said writs of Fieri Facias before mentioned, have been exposed to sale at public vendue, and purchases by Thos <illegible> ^Martin^ Van Buren of the city of Hudson in the county of Columbia for Twenty two hundred & seventy five Dollars, being the highest sum that was bidden therefor: Now Know Ye, that I Reuben Swift the Sheriff aforesaid, by virtue of the said writs of Fieri Facias aforesaid, to me directed and delivered as aforesaid, and by virtue of the Statute in such case made and provided, and for and in consideration of the said sum of Twenty two hundred & seventy five Dollars, to me in hand paid by the said Martin Van Buren the receipt and payment whereof I solemnly acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Martin Van Buren his heirs and assigns for ever, the said tracts piecces and parcels of land, with their appurtenances, and all the estate, right, title and interest which the said Asel King of right had of in and to the same: To Have and To Hold the said pieces, parcels and tracts of land, with their appurtenances, unto the said Martin Van Buren his heirs and assigns forever, as fully and absolutely as I the said Reuben Swift might, could or ought to grant, bargain and sell the same, by force of the statute aforesaid and the said writ of Fieri Facias or otherwise. In witness whereof I the said Rueben Swift have hereunto to set my hand and seal, the twenty seventh day of December ^January^ in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and fourteen fifteen.
