To all to whom these presents may come, I John C. Hogeboom Sheriff of the County of Columbia send Greeting: Whereas by virtue of one writ of fieri facias issued out of the Supreme Court of Judicature for the State of New York tested the sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six at the suit of Theron Rudd and John Brush to me directed, commanding me that of the Goods and Chattles, Lands and Tenements of James I Stoutenburgh to Levy three hundred sixty seven dollars and twenty cents debt and fourteen dollars and sixty one cents costs; and also by virtue of one other writ of fieri facias issued out of the Supreme Court of Judicature of the State of New York tested the sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six at the suit of Theron Rudd and John Brush to me directed, commanding me that of the Goods and Chattles Land and Tenements of the said James I Stoutenburgh to Levy five hundred sixteen dollars and forty eight cents debt and fourteen dollars and sixty one cents costs; and also by virtue of one other writ of fieri facias issued out of the Supreme Court of Judicature of the State of New York tested the fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six at the suit of John Rogers to me directed, commanding me that of the Goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements of the said James I Stoutenburgh to Levy five hundred dollars debt and fourteen dollars and forty four cents costs.

I have seized and taken of the Lands and Tenements of the said James I Stoutenburgh. All that certain Dwelling House, Barn, farm, parcel of Land and premessis situate in the Town of Kinderhook at a place called the Vallitie which said farm and premessis were conveyed to the said James I Stoutenburgh by John Goes Junr. Jacobus L Van Alen and James I Van Alen Trustees and Executors of the last Will and Testament of Lucas I Goes deceased, and possessed by the said James under the said Deed and which are also particularly mentioned and described in a mortgage thereof given by the said James and his wife to the said Trustees and executors aforesaid which mortgage is recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County of Columbia reference being thereunto had may more fully appear, the said farm containing about one hundred and seventy five acres of Land; And also one equal half or moiety of a Grist Mill, Mill House and Lot of Land whereon the said Mill and House now stand situate on the north side of the Kinderhook Creek which was owned and possessed by the said Lucas I Goes deceased in his life time and Andries Claw and also the equal ^half^or moiety of the Mill dam and waters to the same belonging; and also the one equal half or moiety of all such right as the said Lucas I Goes deceased in his life time and the said Andries had in and to the Land on the opposite side of the said Creek and adjacent to the said Creek for the purpose of maintaining the said Dam, as the same Mill, Mill Dams and premessis were owned and posessed by the said Lucas I Goes deceased in his life time and the said Andries Claw and also as the same was owned and possessed by the said Andries Claw and the said James I Stoutenburgh, the said James as Grantee of the said Trustees and Executors of the said Lucas I Goes deceased as Tenants in common which said premessis are also particularly mentioned and described in the Mortgage aforesaid referrence being thereunto had may also more fully appear: And Whereas all and singular the said premessis with their appurtenances since the seizure by me made by virtue of the said writs of fieri facias before mentioned have been exposed to sale at public vendue and purchased by Martin Van Buren of the Town of Kinderhook in the County of Columbia for seven dollars bring the highest sum bidden therefor: Now Know Ye, that I John C Hogeboom the Sheriff aforesaid by virture of the said writs of fieri facias aforesaid to me directed and delivered as aforesaid and by virtue of the statute in such case made and provided and for and in consideration of the said sum of seven dollars [. . .] by the said Martin Van Buren the receipt and payment [. . .] grant bargain and sell unto the same Martin Van Buren his heirs and assigns for ever all and singular the premesses her[e]in before mentioned with the appurtenances thereunto belonging; and all the Est[a]te right and title and interest which the said James I Stoutenburgh of right had of in a[n]d to the same. To have and to hold all and singular the said premesses with [t]heir appurtenances unto the said Martin Van Buren his Heirs and assignes for ever as fully and absolutely as I the said John C Hogeboom might could or oug[h]t to grant bargain and sell the same by force of the Statute aforesaid and the Said writs of fieri facias or otherwise: In Witness whereof I the said John C Hogeboom have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of October in the ye[a]r of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six.
