MVB to John V[an] Buren, 19 April 1828

Washington

My dear Son

I send you a check for the $200 but am bound to say that taken in connexion with the amount previously advanced your expenses for the last six months are unreasonably high. Send me the item that I may not suspect you of the folly of extravagance. I do not understand your references as to my predictions about ^the^ Connecticut election. It is impossible to predict with any thing like certainty the termination of the Session. I may be in Nyork by the 1st of June.

Your father

M.V.Buren

If necessary get Mr Croswell to indorse the check for ^with^ you
