W.

My dear Sir,

After a great deal of difficulty I have at last obtained the opinion of the court for you at the double expense of paying $11.25 for it & being under the necessity of treating the clerk (a brother of my friend Judge Carroll of your senate) very rudely for his extortion. I have thus to charge you with the necessity of making at least one enemy.

The rest of the matter spoken of by you we will talk about when I see you which will be about the first of may. In the mean time make my best respects to your brother & to your respective families & believe me to be

Your friend and hbl Svt
