MVB to [Samuel Lewis Southard], 11 March 1825

Mr Van Buren presents his compliments to the Secretary of the navy & takes the liberty of reminding him of the Warrant for young Mr. Livingston. Mr V Buren has had but mislaid a memorandum respecting young Barry, has he been appointed Purser or rcd. any other promotion or has he reason to expect it soon or is there any thing done that may be said to his friend in Ny. Mr V Buren will leave Williamson at 1/2 past 2 today & will be glad to hear from the Secty by the bearer or before that time at his convenience.
