MVB to Nathan Williams, 26 December 1819

My dear Sir

Yours of the 9th. was rcd. during my absence of the Columbia Circuit from which I have just returned. As I shall have the pleasure of seeing you next week it would be superfluous to write at large on the subject of your letter but I cannot omit the expression of the great satisfaction which It has given me & to assure of the sincerity & zeal with which I shall always be ready to unite my exertions to yours in support of the good old cause to which we have been so long attached.

Your friend

M.V.Buren
