David Bacon (1785-1823) was a lawyer and court reporter in New York City. From 1818 to 1819, Bacon edited the New-York Judicial Repository, a monthly compendium of interesting accounts of court proceedings and opinions of the bench, focusing mainly on New York criminal cases. In 1818, Bacon corresponded with MVB, the state's attorney general, regarding New York's imprisonment for debt laws and Bacon's overdue court fees, which he promised to pay.
