Charles Edward Dudley (1780-1841) who emigrated from England to the United States at 14 with his mother. Dudley moved to Albany, New York, and became a merchant. Active in politics, Dudley served in the New York state senate (1820-25), mayor of Albany (1821-24, 1828-29), and U.S. Senator (1829-33). He was married to Blandina Bleecker. Blandina's sister, Elizabeth, later married Pieter Brinckerhoff.
